Id.me is a legit company to verify your identity, the loan company receives verification through id me, not you giving them your user id and password. Don't use id.me they have a knack of suspending accounts (just take a look at the id me reddit page with all the veterans complaining about being locked out) always use login.gov, ds login is okay but they always use an identity verification company like login.gov or id.me for extra verification
Going to disagree with others, if i am trying to create an id.me account with someone else’s id i am not using their email address, same if trying to buy a boat fraudulently more likely you have an email address almost identical to someone else and they are giving the wrong email address id.me is very good at identity confirmation. Simple google search gives tons of info on id.me You can choose not to use them and let edd verify your identity, just be prepared to wait a couple of months while they do it.
