In the past i always used stocking foot waders with booties, no problems We went hunting the next day, typical muddy marsh conditions and i got stuck big time Push one foot down to free the other, and got.
To save weight and costs, we've used old work boots They should be at least ankle high with laces you can tighten so they don't pull off in the mud Yea, old work boots won't last long especially in the salt But, that's ok because by then you'll have figured out what you like.

The boots have always been in good shape When at academy try on a pair of waders similar to what you have and then try the rayguard boots on Be sure to get them big enough The trick is to wear a thin sock with the waders and a thick sock without waders so that you can get the correct fit
